I guess Obama can't keep ever promise... no matter how important it is

"President Barack Obama will break a campaign pledge and sign a budget bill laden with millions in lawmakers' pet projects, administration officials said."

"Administration budget chief Peter Orszag and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel both downplayed the $410 billion spending bill and signaled Obama would hold his nose and sign it. Orszag said: "We want to just move on. Let's get this bill done, get it into law and move forward."

"Taxpayers for Common Sense, a watchdog group, identified almost 8,600 specially sponsored projects totaling $7.7 billion; Democrats say the number is $3.8 billion.

Either way, it is far more than Obama promised as a candidate. He refused "earmarks" for the economic stimulus package he championed and a children's health bill."

Blaming Bush-era proposals for deficits, Obama wanted to set up his own budget that would start Oct. 1, which he proposed last week with a bold goal of cutting the deficit by half within his four-year term.

"First, this is a $1.7 trillion deficit he inherited. Let's be clear about that. We inherited this deficit and we inherited $4 trillion of new debt," Emanuel said. "That is the facts."

Guess the GOP didn't control congress from 1996-2006.....from 01-06 we piled on more debt than we have in the history of our country. Guess that's when W. was a liberal and his congress all turned liberal as well.

Seems that no one realizes that you can't shine a bucket of turds. Obama inherited a mess and it'll take a good long while to fix it. Funny thing to me is this...no one gave a damn when W. was dumping unheard of amounts of money into bombs to fight the "war on terror"....or even when he allowed himself and his cronies to line their pockets with profits from the war. But now that someone is giving back to the American people, he's all of a sudden bashed for it....by the same damn people that supported Bush's bullshit. Guess some folks are mentally void of any type of reasoning skills.

AHHH the ignorance of youth... all of politics is out to get the working class to give them more money. It is just in a different manner. Bush therw it at the middle east and lied about starting his war. Obama is stuck with the worst cash situation in the history of the world. That money from the Iraq war sure would have looked good about now. Or perhaps Bush could have given the cash to the working class, since he was history, anyway. Don't look for anything big to happen, it will take 20 years for the country to recover from "W". Hope ya'll are happy now. And I hope you can see how safe "W's" 401k retirement plan is for you. He will ultimately sink this country, which is his goal. All socialists want to see the demise of any democracy. For someone that's supposed to be so smart, you feed into some of the biggest bunch of BS then i've ever seen. Really, Obama is a socialist who was set out by the other socialist to bring down the US? Wow, just wow. I bet you didn't turn down Bush's stimulus check he sent out, what a socialist.

Both partys suck and I don't know why no one can come to grips with it. But then I've got friends that are the same way with voting D or R. there could be gang bangers or klansmen running for office and yet the idiots would vote for them. If it does'nt profit them (Rs or Ds) or give them their ego boost it won't be done. Our government is more corrupt than many organizations with their back taxes, drugs, adultry, and others. Why would anyone want to follow an elected official with all the garbage they bring with them. They have strayed away from serving the american citizen and what needs to be done to help all people not just their select ones. I don't vote party because I'm looking at the man or woman who has the better ideas for all people concerned. Most politicians want to kiss butt to whoever will give them a vote. Sometimes they just need to man up and say they don't agree with some of these interest groups.
